The digital era provides an opportunity to facilitate learning with technology. Immersive technology, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), is gaining traction in education, with an increasing number of schools using the technology. While many people have heard about immersive technology being used in education, many are uncertain of what it is or how it might be properly employed. This workshop (seminar) will provide examples of effective (or ineffective) approaches for integrating immersive technology into higher education. Additionally, it will discuss common factors that influence students’ acceptance of VR/AR-based education. The workshop concluded with demonstrations of VR technology at the VR laboratory.
